Last year Hulu had a hit with Castle Rock. A series that was based in the town where most of Stephen King’s early work originated from.

Now Season 2 of Castle Rock is upon us, coming in late October. While Season 1 is a great mind bending experience with plenty of Stephen King Easter Eggs there isn’t many familiar characters other than Sheriff Alan Pangborn. This time around, in Season 2 we get a story centered around a very familiar character. We will get to know Annie Wilkes before she became Paul Sheldon’s number one fan.

Bringing the story to life this season will be Tim Robbins (Shawshank Redemption) as Reginald “Pop” Merrill, uncle of Stand By Me and The Body bully Ace Merrill. Lizzy Caplan (Cloverfield) plays the younger Annie Wilkes. Elsie Fisher (Despicable Me and the upcoming The Addams Family animated movie) will play Annie’s daughter Joy.

One thing Hulu managed to do well with Castle Rock is only releasing one episode a week, so we don’t binge the season and not have time to savor it.

On the other hand, one terrible thing Hulu has done with the series is… they only release one episode a week, making us wait a whole week to see what happens next, not allowing us to binge the season!

That’s a joke in case you couldn’t tell.

The series is amazing for both Stephen King’s frequent readers and new fans alike. Castle Rock Season 2 begins on October 23 on Hulu. Until then, here is the first trailer for the season to whet your appetite.

I don’t know about all you dirty birdies but to me this looks like it could be better than season one. Hopefully we get more about the town of Jerusalem’s Lot.

For those who may not know that’s Salem’s Lot, a town where author Ben Mears returns to face demons from his past. The demons are both imagined in the form of childhood fears and real demons in the form of vampires.

Season 1 of Castle Rock is now streaming on Hulu. Season 2 will premiere on October 23.
