VHYes trailer released for Jack Henry Robbins’ bizarre retro comedy

Oscilloscope has released the official trailer for their upcoming comedy VHYes, directed by Jack Henry Robbins (Hot Winter: A Film by Dick PierreOpening NightPainting with Joan) and co-written by Robbins and Nunzio Randazzo. You can check out the trailer now in the player below as well as the full poster in the gallery!

This bizarre retro comedy, shot entirely on VHS and Beta, follows 12-year-old Ralph (Mason McNulty) as he accidentally records home videos and his favorite late-night shows over his parents’ wedding tape. The result is a nostalgic wave of home shopping clips, censored pornography, and nefarious true-crime tales that threaten to unkindly rewind Ralph’s reality.

VHYes stars Mason McNulty, Kerri Kenney, Thomas Lennon, Mark Proksch, Courtney Pauroso, Charlyne Yi, John Gemberling, and Rahm Braslaw.

The film is produced by Delaney Schenker. Executive producers include Tim Robbins, Daniel Berger, Aaron Katz, Daniel Kellison, Jake Lieberman, and Susan Sarandon.

The film will have special advance screenings at Alamo Drafthouses across America on January 12 and opens nationwide in select theaters on January 17. Tickets for the special Alamo screenings can now be purchased at
